Axcent Tank 70s-style LED watch by Daniel Jakobsson

Axcent

Not just a name, the Axcent Tank LED watch is built like an armoured vehicle too.

Designed by Daniel Jakobsson, the Tank is also built like a 1970s digital timepiece too, that retro-style LED display peaking out from that chunk of stainless steel on your wrist, available with a natural finish or in gold if you want some added bling, both with a mineral glass screen and water resistance to three metres.

Watchismo sells the Axcent of Scandinavia watch range, with both of the above available for $139 or £84 if you prefer.

Briseux Silk Minidress by Victoria Beckham

Briseux

Looking back ten years and the very notion that Victoria Beckham (or Adams as she was then) could be making quality designer clothing seems daft at best. But she's certainly done that, and is using plenty of retro style points with a decidedly modern twist.

This Briseux Silk Minidress is from her brand new collection and takes its cues from the classic sixties minidress. With a high collar, capped sleeves and A-line skirt, the silhouette is well done, while the fabric choice and jewelled purple colour add some modern touches.

Get it online from Net-a-Porter for £1195.

Nautical Straw Bag from Oli

Nautical

Retro looks can often err on the extreme side of fashion, and while that may be perfect for nights on the town, getting your favourite style to work for more demure occasions is harder. If you're a fan of a fifties nautical look, this Nautical Straw Bag from Oli is a great way to inject some of the aesthetic into your every day wardrobe.

The straw bag comes in either red or blue, with sailor stripes imprinting an instant style point. The cute and kitsch anchor appliqué combined with rope handles adds just enough finishing touches. Perfectly combining much of the more extreme elements of this style, this is a great retro accessory.

Get yours online from Oli for £30 each.

Robo bank and alarm clock

Robo bank

This site loves its retro looking robots but there are good robots and there are evil robots. The Robo bank is a good robot, doubling up as an alarm clock and money bank. Its appealing chunky plastic body contains a panel displaying the date, time and day, while the arms wave and eyes flash when you approach it. To make saving a little bit more appealing it also counts your money for you and you can even set a target saving amount.

So, a very good robot indeed. However, if you try and withdraw money from it too many times, a more evil side comes out and it may try and stop you!

It costs £25 from the Science Museum Shop
