Pinch Pendel sofa

Pendalsofa
Another piece from Pinch Design to lust after: the Pendel sofa. It’s a neat little two seater, designed to fit into a compact space and its curves recall the designs of someone like Finn Juhl. However, it’s been freshened up for the twenty-first century by the beautiful wildflower print upholstery.

The Pinch website suggests it could be used in a hallway or in a bay window. I hadn’t considered I needed a sofa in either of those spaces until now, but now I’ve seen it, I know I won’t feel satisfied until I do! I had better start counting my pennies however, as the sofa costs £2295.

Alice Melvin’s ‘Cut out and dress Mr and Mrs Peg’ dolls

Melvin Peg

If you want your kid to do something other than stare at a monitor all day, Alice Melvin's 'Cut out and dress Mr and Mrs Peg' paper dolls could be the answer. They are also a slice of pure nostalgia for the adult involved, two dolls for you (or your child) to cut out and dress in one of the two old fashioned outfits that is included for each doll in the set.

Melvin is an illustrator, book designer and artist and both the dolls and the outfits, including the bathing suits pictured above, are charming. If you like the style of her work, she's due to have her second children's book published by the Tate in September this year.

The set costs £5 from her online store

Jaeger London Wing Collar Cropped Tux

Jaeger london

Jaeger London may have made their biggest waves with high powered 80s fashion, but they've come past this dated workwear look to make luxurious pieces with broad retro influence. This Wing Collar Cropped Tux is a great example of their fashion forward pieces' vintage inspiration.

While twenties and thirties fashion is usually flapper dresses, this jacket's art deco influence is a great non-literal interpretation of pre-war design. Straight, striking linear patterns combine with a rich light mink shade to great effect. The end result is a luxurious statement piece that could become a classic.
