London Calling mobile phone – shaped like a red telephone box

Londoncalling

Ok, it's no iPhone, but you can be sure that the London Calling mobile phone will catch as many eyes when you take a call.

Yes, shaped like a classic (and now rarely-seen) K6 red telephone box, the London Calling phone has novelty appeal and covers all the phone basics too – with a TFT screen, SMS and MMS messaging, polyphonic ringtones and GPRS connectivity. Plenty to remind you of Britain too, including '15 iconic images' of the country and the likes of Rule Britannia and God Save The Queen amongst the pre-loaded ringtones.

Sold with travel charger, battery and start-up guide, it sells for £85.95.  More than your average PAYG phone, but this is no average handset – for better or worse.

‘Wall furniture’ from Dorkenwald-Spitzer

Wallfurniture

Dorkenwald-Spitzer take the idea of dream interiors one step further with their wall furniture, which are basically strips pre-printed with furniture and accessories that are suitable for hanging on the wall and therefore instantly enhancing your space. They are reusable, waterproof and washable so even if you move house, your furniture can come with you.

The idea and imagery won't be to everyone's taste but, if you do want to invest, many of the images have a retro feel. Sacco shown here is presumably named for the beanbag lurking around the corner and the second image, LC2, is named after the armchair shown in the right of the image. Both designs come in four strips, measuring 186cm x 220cm and costing 210 euros. So not cheap, but cheaper than investing in the furniture (and cat) that they illustrate!
