New It Girl blouse by Mode Merr

It girl mode merr

Mode Merr usually focus their retro reproduction skills on the 1950s, but occasionally they branch out with great results. With their It Girl blouse, they've gone for a mod inspired look, with sleek, chic design.

Paired in this photo with their new houndstooth pencil skirt design, this blouse has a great cut for a sixties look. The high, notched collar gives a perfect mod shape, with a short sleeve to give a very sixties silhouette. The arresting red colour gives this a fun, mid sixties style, but it's also available in a more versatile black.

It's available from Mode Merr online for $64.

Breton stripe jumper from Whistles

Whistles jumper

Breton stripes have been popular in the UK and America ever since the 1950s. With an unmistakable sprinkling of French chic, the pattern is consistently in style.

This nautical style button sleeve jumper is from Whistles, and uses the stripe to great effect. In a wider pattern than usual, this jumper has a casual look that fits well with the Beat style of the 50s and 60s. The buttons and elbow length sleeves add some femininity, while the shape is perfect for that androgynous beat look.

Get this from Whistles online or in the shops now for £70.

Miss Selfridge Petites 80s style corset dress

Corset dress

Body conscious dressing was big business in the eighties, and the corset dress epitomized the fashion for the figure flaunting trend. The 80s revival is in full swing, and for those who are into the style, and proud enough to show off their bodies, this Miss Selfridge corset dress is a must.

It takes a brave wearer, but this version is very true to its eighties inspiration, with structural seaming decorations and a sweetheart neckline. The grey shade means this isn't too flashy or over the top. It's 100% cotton, too, so there's no fear of a cheap look.

Part of their Petites range, it's available from Miss Selfridge now for £30.

Conran Shop steel stereo cabinet

Stereo_cabinet

Not the cheapest place to store your home audio, but the Conran Shop steel stereo cabinet is certainly one of the more distinctive.

Oozing retro style, this particular cabinet is made from gloss lacquered, galvanised steel and offers height-adjustable metal shelves for your main kit, along with two side compartments capable of storing just about anyone's CD collection.

Ok, there are a couple of downsides – finding room for a 4ft tall metal cabinet is one, the colour could be another (although you can order others), but perhaps the biggest hurdle to purchasing is the price – a hefty £2,395. And that doesn't even include delivery.

Peter Jensen for Fred Perry Harrington jacket now available to buy

Jensen_oki

We featured these some weeks back, but now you can buy the Peter Jensen for Fred Perry Harrington jacket in the UK.

But whether you want one is debatable – it's a variation you'll either love or hate. Moving it away from the traditional FP Harrington is the oversized laurel, larger collar, longer length and an ultra-slim fit. Indeed, if you're on the tall and slim side, it might well fit like a glove. If your body shape is at the other end of the spectrum, this is certainly one to avoid.

A 'designer' reworking, it also comes with a designer price of £199, with a choice of black, red or gingham.

Polaroid 600 One Classic camera

Polaroid_600

The death of the Polaroid camera has been greatly exaggerated – it's just moved from the high street to more niche retailers, selling everything from the classic to the quirky – and the Polaroid 600 One Classic certainly belongs to that first group.

It's a modern update of the classic Polaroid camera, but still looking very much 'of an age'. It opens as and when you need it (to protect both the flash and lens), producing instant images using the Polaroid 600 colour film (still widely available to buy). There's also a focus-free lens, built-in auto flash and an LCD screen showing how many images you've got left.

Available from the Polapremium website, you can pick one up for £65.
