Ceci by Sander Mulder – light shaped like a broken bulb

Ceci

At first glance, this is just a classic light bulb that’s been smashed and melted, but it’s actually a cool piece of design – the Ceci by Sander Mulder.

It’s not just an old bulb – in fact it’s any but – the ‘shade’ being hand-blown from heat-resistant Pyrex glass, while the actual light aspect comes from a high-powered LED light. And as it’s LED, this is one bulb you’ll probably never have to change.

A limited edition, signed and numbered by the designer, you can pick one up for $219, which is around £110.

Fiat 500 Tender Two electric beach buggy

Fiat_beach

Spend your life near the beach? Well, the Fiat 500 Tender Two could be for you.

It’s a variation on the new Fiat 500 by Italian car design firm Castagna and based on the original Fiat beach buggy – the Fiat 500 Jolly. This version removes the doors, tailgate and roof, with the side sills raised and reinforced, a canvas roof used (should you get a shower in your beach paradise) and the interior and cargo bay finished in teak with wicker and blue upholstery.

Oh yes – and it’s been converted into a nippy electric vehicle, capable of clocking up 80mph and with a range of 86 miles between charges. No specific price, as each one is made individually, drop the company a line should you ever find yourself in the sun and in the money.

An interesting piece of vintage sportswear reissued – the Sergio Tacchini Nero Davis Cup Ghibli tracktop.

The Ghibli tracktop was created for the US tennis team in the 1980s, worn famously by tennis legend John McEnroe. And this reissue keeps all the detailing – ‘United States Tennis Cup Team’ motif coupled with the Tacchini logo, gold and white detailing, white cuffs and high collar and the branded zipper.

Take your pick from all sizes, all selling for £70.

Ted Baker Button Back Shift Dress

Image4xl

The shift dress continues to a popular retro shape for high street designs, but the Ted Baker Button Back Shift Dress has two things that set it apart from the usual choices.

The first is, as its name suggests, the buttons that run up the back of the dress, which add to its cute 1960s style. The second is the colour; a bright orange, which again has a strong association with decades past. As well as the bold colour, it has a pretty high hemlines, you need a bit of confidence (and a good pair of pins!) to wear this one.

It is made from a lightweight wool and costs £120 from As Seen on Screen.

ABCD Wall Sticker

Abcd

Another new addition to Pedlars’ autumn stock is this ABCD Wall Sticker, which utilises antique fonts to good effect.

The regular use for anything with an alphabet motif is in a child’s bedroom, but the stylish vintage font used here means it would work just as well in rooms occupied by adults, such as a study. It is removable, but sadly not reusable, so since it costs £118, you will need to think carefully about where you want to use.

New Hetty Rose vintage Kimono designs

Hetty_rose

Some of you may remember Hetty Rose, who we told you about last year. The company hand make shoes and accessories from fantastic vintage Kimono fabrics, making each pair entirely bespoke and extremely eyecatching.

Well, they’re back with part two of their Kimono collection, featuring many more shoe shapes and designs and a few bags thrown in for good measure. I particularly love these Hana Mary Jane shoes.

Shoe prices start from £300, though each item is made to measure.
