Mai ’68 – extremely limited edition book of the Paris 1968 street posters

Mai_68

Regular readers will recall our fascination with the posters from the Hayward Gallery’s May 68: Street Posters from the Paris Rebellion exhibition, which were available in very limited numbers from the Keep Calm Gallery back in April. Well, if you missed out there and have a grand to spare, we have just the thing.

Mai ’68 is the official book of the exhibition. But it’s not just your average catalogue. Oh no, this a seriously limited edition hardback book featuring all 40 of the poster designs shown in the exhibition. Each page is perforated, so you can pull out your favourites and frame them up. Or you can just keep it safe – this is only going to go up in value.

Just 68 of these available and only via Paul Smith, which is selling each one with a certificate of authenticity. Just as well – you don’t want to pay £1,200 for any old rubbish.

Sized at 15 x 10 inches and certainly not dishwasher friendly, you can bag one for $129.99 (around £65).

Girard Coffee Table for Knoll

Girardtable

Very different from the his La Fonda coffee table that we featured earlier in the year, Alexander Girard also designed a coffee table for Knoll.

This one dates back to 1948 and has a walnut veneer tabletop and an organic shape with one straight and one asymmetrical side. It can be positioned with either the straight or the asymmetrical edge facing the seating area, giving a large usable surface area without taking up too much floor space.

It is still produced by Knoll in line with the original specifications and can be ordered from Desigin Within Reach for $745 (approximately £370).

Soo Lee Print Dress

Soo_lee

The sixties inspired shift dress is one fashion item that keeps coming back in a huge range of guises, but somehow never gets old. While many modern takes veer into the mundane, this great Soo Lee Floral Print Dress ticks all the right boxes.

With a little added shape around the waist, the dress is easy to wear and looks every bit the vintage piece with a muted floral pattern that’s wearable all year round. The high neck and  button detail contrast perfectly with the daring hem that made 60s fashion so famous.

It’s available now from Oli for £45.
