Vitra re-introduces Eames DSR chair

Eames_dsw

We featured the Eames DSR chair recently and if you like that, you might be interest in another resurrected Eames design in a similar vein – the DSW chair.

Originally designed in 1950 and now remade by Vitra, the DSW is an all-purpose chair in polypropylene with a four-legged maple base and in a choice of colours – black, light blue, lime yellow, grey, red and white.

Not cheap, but certainly timeless, it retails for £262.

CubismrangeThe options are somewhat limited if you are looking for a cooker to complement a retro-style kitchen. Yes, there is always the Aga, but that is a bit too Country Living and you need a big kitchen to accommodate it. Britannia are now producing a cook that may just suit your kitchen.

The Cubism cooker is part of Britannia’s limited editor Couture Range. Chinavision cassette-shaped MP3 player

Chinavision_cassette
By far the quirkiest – and possibly coolest – MP3 player I’ve seen in a long time – the Chinavision cassette-shaped MP3 player.

As well as the retro design (which also features an image of a record deck on the exterior), the player allows storage of MP3 tracks on an SD or MMC card (up to 2GB), with buttons on the front for accessing your tracks and changing volume, an earphone socket and a rechargeable battery.

This is a new product, with no price as yet – but it’s unlikely to sell for more than £20.
