VW Camper Van pool table

Campervan_pool

We always pride ourselves in offering links to buy just about everything we feature on Retro To Go. But in the case of this VW Camper Van pool table, we can’t – because it seems to be a one-off.

It appeared in the US at a skateboard festival, offering passers-by a glimpse of a vontage VW van and the option to pot a few balls on a high-class table (the balls are stored under the engine flap).

The current owner paid $8,000 (around £4,000). If you know of another one, let us know.

eBay Watch: Adidas/Y-3 FAC 51 Hacienda trainers

Hacienda_trainers2

Remember the Adidas/Y-3 FAC 51 Hacienda trainers we featured a month or so back? We wondered if anyone would be willing to pay the £345 price tag, even if there are only 250 pairs worldwide. Well they would.

All the trainers were quickly snapped up – and that’s led to brisk business on eBay. This pair has already beaten the £345 price point and have a ‘Buy It Now’ of a whopping £1,000. Yes, for a pair of trainers.

There are around four pairs up for grabs in total, so if you missed out at Selfridges and have the cash, you know where to go.

Graham & Brown Hemingway wallpaper range

Hemingway_wallpaper

Wayne Hemingway has always been a designer unafraid to take inspiration from the past – and he’s certainly used the 60s and 70s s a template for the Graham & Brown Hemingway wallpaper range.

There are some very bold designs available – some that should brighten up a room, other that might be good for a feature wall. The two featured here are typical of the range – the geometric Funk wallpaper and the full-on 70s-inspired Wood Effect.

Check out the full range at the Graham & Brown website, with prices ranging from £15 to £25 per roll.

Pac-Man carpet

Pacman_rug

Ideal for a retro gamer’s room – the Pac-Man carpet.

Which just about sums up what it is – a carpet sized at 210cm x 310cm, made of 100 per cent wool and with a design from a Pac-Man screenshot. It’s also exclusive – just two have been made.

Which inevitably means a high price – £1,095. But it does include shipping.

Charles Rennie Mackintosh Willow Chair

WillowThe Willow Chair is older than the classic chairs we usually featured – its over 100 years old.

Pioneer of the Modern Movement in Scotland, Charles Rennie Mackintosh created the Willow chair in 1903 for the Willow Tea Rooms in Glasgow. The chequer pattern of the back takes the form of a stylised tree, inspired by his interest in Japan design. His designs, including this chair, were a great influence on the Bauhaus movement that followed later.

Mackintosh only ever made one Willow Chair but since the 1960s thousands of reproductions have been made. Design Icons are selling their version with the seat upholstered in either cotton (priced £1115) or leather (priced £1155).
