Andreas Linzner Giraffes

Lux_giraffe_2German designer Andreas Linzner became obsessed with the Terry towelling material on his hunts around flea markets. He started using it in his artwork in pictures and collages, but then moved onto making toy animals from it. Now he travels the world looking for the material to recycle into toys like the Andreas Linzner Giraffe, so each one is made from carefully selected fabric.

Luxeville have several of his giraffe toys in stock, each made of different towelling material and each with its own name – the one pictured here is Pia, but you can also choose from Monica (lilac, white and blue crysanthamum print) or Jan (large flowers in brown, white and orange).

They cost £35 each – visit Luxeville to see the full range.

Adidas Superstar Force – Star Wars-inspired trainers

Starwars_trainers

If you are into your Star Wars and indeed into your trainers, you might want to seek out a pair of the Adidas Superstar Force trainers.

They’re available for a limited time from September and available in two looks – the black, which are Darth Vader-influenced and the lighter shade, which is inspired by Yoda. And check out the logos on the shoes – which use the Star Wars font.

In the US, they will retail for $150, which is around £75. I’ve not yet found a UK retailer.

Choc & Candy are the two designs you an see above, a collage of pop art-style imagery on a stackable kitchen/diner chair, ideal if you want to brighten up a plain room.

You can pick up either design online, priced at £119 each.

Alexander Girard T-shirts

Modernseed_1962_19110333_2 We’ve featured several products based on the work of textile designer Alexander Girard’s in the past, but that is no reason to not show another one – Girard Children’s T-Shirts.

The prints on these tops include some of Girard’s best known designs, which feature his signature mixture of folk art and bright colours.

They are available exclusively from Modernseed, priced $18 (approximately £10). They are suitable for children ages 4 and up. Sadly, they don’t make them for adults!

Dreamwall Retro Tiles

Dreamtiles

Hannah Coleman started her company Dreamwall in 2003, specialising in rustic wall coverings, but since then the range has expanded to include a fabulous selection of retro-inspired tiles.

Made of high quality plastic, the tiles come a variety of designs, but with an emphasis on bold geometric shapes and colours, as seen in the two pictured here, the Lego-like 2:4:16 and the Four Ball. These tiles are large so more suited to careful placement in singles, pairs or small groups as a feature, rather than using to tile whole wall.

Prices vary according to design – the two pictures here cost £65 each. To see the whole collection visit Dreamwall.
