Clare Nicolson new cushion collection

Clare Nicolson has frequently popped up on this site, for her vintage-inspired fabrics. It's been a while since we featured anything of her work, so it's a pleasure to see her new cushion collection.

The new designs move away a bit from her usual floral patterns. However, there's still a definite retro feel to her designs just, like the rectangle cushion pictured above, they focus on geometric designs instead. If you liked her other work, fear not – the new collection still includes one of her trademark bird designs, while each of the cushions still is finished with a vintage fabric reverse. 

The cushions cost £50 each.

Cast your mind back and you may remember the Marionette cushions, the result of a collaboration between Ferm Living and Darling Clementine. Those creatures are back, this time ready to liven up your kid's bedroom in the form of this Marionette Wallpaper. 

The four creatures – Frank Fox, Elle Elephant, Posy Panda and Aristo Katt – are, as with the cushions, depicted in a retro style and here is shown as a repeated pattern against a turquoise background.

’50s style tea towel from H&M

It's a classy piece of design which looks like it would be more at home on the wall than in the kitchen but in fact this '50s style tea towel is from H&M. 

Designer Anna Karin-Elde has depicted two ceramics, drawn in a sketchy fifties style. The simple design is then printed onto 100% organic cotton. 

You'd expect H&M to be cheap but in fact this design is on sale so it's even more of a bargain, costing just £3.49.

Great twist on a usually mundane household item – these Arcade Light Switches by AlephDesign, perfect for the retro gaming addict.

They are what are, light switches made from actual arcade machine 'push' buttons, but able to work instead of your standard light switches. Just get an electrician in and you're away.

Available in various colour combinations and available from the seller via Etst, they sell for $45 (£28.63) each.

eBay watch: 1950s John Clappison Palette coffee table

An interesting design on eBay right now, this 1950s John Clappison Palette coffee table.

According to the seller, it was produced in collaboration with cabinet maker Jack Reynolds and made by Rapier and was featured in a furniture exhibition at Earl's Court in 1957.

Condition? It's described as 'fantastic', with the 'odd light chip to the veneer'. If you want it, the bidding right now is at £10.50.

Lomography introduces the La Sardina film camera range

We’re big fans of Lomo photography, so we’re always pleased to see new models – like the Lomography La Sardina film camera range.

It’s a very fishy-themed camera, based on the design of a sardine tin, as you might have guessed from the one pictured above and the three cameras featured over the page,. They go by the names of El Capitán, Fischer´s Fritze, Sea Pride and Marathon, each with their one vintage-style imagery and colour.
