Roberts Revival iStream internet DAB radio

Istream

Not just a Roberts Revival radio, the Roberts Revival iStream internet DAB radio mixes that 50s styling with the power of the net.

By that, we mean the original DAB radio functionality is joined by Wi-Fi internet radio, so the many digital radio stations you can access with this portable retro-styled radio are joined by thousands of internet radio stations and shows. You can also use it to stream your personal music collection directly from your laptop or to access Last.fm.

Find the stations via the digital interface on top, one of the few concessions to the modern era in the design. Powered by mains or battery, the Roberts Revival iStream sells for £199.95.

Poppy Print Dress by Red Herring

Poppydress

When a mainstream fifties look is the inspiration, it's most often florals that modern designers look to, eschewing the more daring niche looks of rockabilly and pin-up styles from the era. This Poppy Print Dress by Red Herring manages the sweetness of a floral fifties look without being too saccharine.

The use of red and black is a classic combination that adds a tougher edge than many natural floral prints, with the poppies retaining the retro feel. The dress has a simple but effective cut, with capped sleeves and a high waistline allowing a swing style skirt to balance the silhouette.

It's available now from Debenhams for £35.

The skirt is demure, falling to the knee, but has a lovely full shape that will give a real swish as you walk. An embellished belt nips you in at the waist and a tailored bodice and modest but flattering neckline give a great silhouette.

Archive Reissue Center Lo basketball shoes by PF Flyers

Pf

A cut above your average old school plimsoll, the PF Flyers Archive Reissue Center Lo basketball shoes takes things back to the beginning.

In this case, we’re talking 1953, with the latest issue of the Center Lo being a replica of the original basketball shoe in a choice of five colours, two of which are pictured above. Details are much the same as you would expect – a canvas upper, rubber sole, cushioned footbed, ribbed toe guard and a diamond pattern outsole.

£45 is the price if you want a pair.
