Ercol’s 1950s anniversary Studio Couch range

Ercol

To celebrate Ercol's 90th anniversary, some of the company's more interesting designs have been made over and reissued, including the Ercol Studio Couch range.

The range was designed by the company’s founder, Lucian Ercolani, and was originally launched in the late 1950s, still keeping that 'look' with the reissue. Both models have the classic bent arms and construction from elm and beech, with the option of going with or without back cushions. There's also the option of different fabrics for the upholstery too.

Two designs in one too, with the ability to use as a sofa or occasional bed. £1,685 is the starting price, varying depending on your choice of finish.

Lisa Stickley 50s-style hook rail

HookrailMore Lisa Stickley, as she continues to spread her style across the British high street. This time it's some products produced for Heal's, and specifically this 50s-style hook rail

It's a very simple design: bright, raspberry-coloured wooden rail, given a 1950s update through the Eames' Hang-It-All-style knobs. There's something of the old-fashioned school changing room about it too – which may or not be a good thing!

The rail costs £32 and is also available as single hook for £12.

Gidget Dress by Rock Steady

Gidgetdress

For those of us who bore the burden a school uniform, we spent our formative years loathing the very mention of the word pinafore (well I did, at least). When it comes to retro fashion, however, it's never a dirty word thanks to fifties and sixties influences.

This Gidget Dress by US retro brand Steady Clothing has a cutesy and kitsch vintage feel, while staying simple and versatile. From their Rock Steady line, the pinafore (or jumper if you're American) is instantly sixties thanks to a high neckline, A-line cut and double breasted button detailing. The combination of a crisp white shirt rounds the dress out neatly.

Get it now from Steady Clothing online for $58.

1950s-inspired Nigel Cabourn Cameraman Jacket

Cabourn

This particular outdoor jacket is a replica of a classic coat of the past, going by the name of the Nigel Cabourn Cameraman Jacket.

The Cameraman Jacket was worn by Wilfrid Noyce on his photographic expeditions to Everest in the 1950s, with the latest version described as a 'painstaking recreation of the original', with Mackintosh uppers and Harris Tweed lower sections. Other features include nut buttons and a US military metal clasp closure, four front flap pockets and an adjustable hood with coiled cord detailing.

A limited edition that's made in England and available in four colour options. Sadly it doesn't come cheap, selling for £899.

Sentou Edition 1950s-style Lalinde side table

Lalinde

No, this isn't (as far as we know) a vintage design, the Sentou Edition Lalinde side table is inspired by, rather than reissued from, the 1950s.

Love those tapered, midcentury-style angled legs, as well as the bold colours on the lacquered surface, which is available in 'round' or 'bean'. If you fancy something toned down, there's also a natural wood finish in the range.

Available online, prices start at £153.
