A seemingly unlikely source of mid-century influenced design, this retro mirror comes from Next.
It's a nice change to see a mirror that looks to the 50s and 60s without resorting to a starburst style design. This mirror has a rectangular frame with a curve to the inside edge of the frame that gives it more of a softer look. The quality of the material reflects its high street origins – it's 'oak effect' but the mirror is pretty good looking nonetheless.

One of bathtime's oldest companions gets honoured in this Rubber Duck shower curtain from Bliss.
It's a normal plastic shower curtain that's been brightened up with the repeated image of a charming yellow duck. If you haven't heard of Bliss, they make rather expensive spa type products and have a chain of rather expensive spas – so this design seems a bit of an unlikely match for them. However, who can argue when the result is as fun as this?

A gem in the new autumn/winter range at Marks & Spencer, this Fjord retro-styled easy chair.
A simple shape, with a sold hardwood frame and a look inspired by both midcentury and Scandinavian design. It's also available in a seemingly-endless range of upholstered finishes, with the seat cushions (including the buttoned back cushion) filled with shape-retaining foam.

It is something we have featured before, but this particular 1970s JVC Videosphere television is very cheap right now, so well worth as look.
An iconic design from 1970 and one that was inspired by the era of space exploration and the 2001: A Space Odyssey movie, but all accounts. Good got use on its stand, also good to use with the chain, hanging on a wall. Downside? You'll need to get it converted to use it in the modern digital world, unless you just want it for decoration.
It is described as being in 'original unrestored condition', generally being in 'very good above' condition, although there is 'one major crack' on the square base and the head of the antenna is missing, although it still works. So not perfect, but pretty good – and just £2.20 right now.
This 50s-style Magic wallpaper from Caselio is probably meant to be for kids but it's too charming just to be left to them.
The wallpaper features a cute retro style kitten who frolics over the lilac coloured design. Couple that with some fifties-styled metallic star emblems and you've got a design that will add just the right touch of kitsch to a bathroom or a boudoir. Or a kid's room, if you're feeling generous.

If modernism with great views appeals, the US looks like the place to be, judging by the Parker Residence in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
An impressive, almost futuristic residence, it's actually nearly 50 years old, the work of architect Foster Rhodes Jackson in 1964. It looks stunning now, it must have quite a site when constructed 'back in the day'.
