Iannone Design Wooly Media Cabinet

WOOLY+MEDIA+CABINET1
Iannone Design is a Philadelphia based design/build firm dedicated to the creation of eco-friendly furniture. One of their newest products is this Wooly Media Cabinet.

It has all the right environmental credentials, but what I like about it is its quirky design, a style that would fit with either a midcentury or shabby chic style. It features a flip down front on the left compartment whilst the right side has two drawers. It is available in two lengths: 60 inches or 70 inches, costing $2,195 (£1,350) and $2,400 (£1,480).

2Modern will ship it free within the USA, but also offer worldwide shipping (which may cancel out the eco-friendliness as well as bumping up the price).

Handmade wooden Retro TV iPad dock at Etsy

Ipaddock

While Apple's iPad isn't particularly retro, some of the accessories made for it certainly are. Topping that list so far is the Etch A Sketch iPad case, but giving it a run for its money is this handmade wooden Retro TV iPad dock at Etsy.

A lovely piece of design that apes a vintage TV, it has been made to custom fit an iPad or iPad 2 and should look just the part if you happen to be watching iPlayer or 4OD on your tablet. Not sure how practical it would be for more general use, but who cares…its looks great. That's the main point.

Available on Etsy, $60 or £37.99 is the price.

Acapulco Mini

Thumb_resize
You’ll no doubt already be familiar with the Acapulco Chair, but what about its smaller relative the Acapulco Mini?

Just like the original, the Mini version has a solid steel frame with a powder coating and is suitable for use outdoors – the only difference being that this one is child-size. It is available in a choice of light blue, yellow or black.

It costs 135 Euros if you buy it directly from Oficina Kreativa.

Camber Sideboard from Dwell

400-110108
The Camber Sideboard from Dwell provides generous storage space with a good dose of retro style.

There are two cupboard areas in the middle with a three drawer section on each end. Unusually the drawers are quadrant-shapes which gives the sideboard its distinctive rounded edges. The unit is covered in a grained walnut veneer which adds to its retro appeal.

It costs £899 and is estimated to be available at the end of this month. Visit Dwell to order.

Tulip Dishcloth from Klippan

01
We frequently feature tea towels on this site, but dish clothes are a little bit rarer (probably with good reason). This Tulip Dishcloth from Klippan is possibly only the fourth such item we’ve featured.

The retro tulip design was created by Lotta Glave (one half of the Swedish design team Bengt & Lotta). It is available in a choice of colours, either shades of blue or red/yellow/green. Each dish cloth costs £2.44, which is undoubtedly more than you’d pay for a normal pack of cloths, but cheap enough if you want to add that final finishing touch to a totally retro kitchen.

Buy them from the Scandinavian Design Center.
