Wool1

Midcentury in Liverpool? You'd better believe it. Even better, this this James Hunter-designed Man House in Woolton, Liverpool, Merseyside is on the market right now.

It’s a midcentury-style bungalow, dating back to 1964 and the work of American architect James Hunter. It's a hoyse that boasts space, both with a large plot and an open plan design reminiscent of that era. Yes, it has been modernised, but the work undertaken has maintained the character of the original house.

Apple cushion by Too Much Too Young

Too much apple
We've featured some of their kids sets before but if you're grown-up and want to get a bit of Too Much Too Young's style, take a look at their apple cushion.

The design echos the naivety and 60s/70s style of their designs for children, showing the simple outline of an apple. It's printed onto white cotton with a suitably apple like cushion back.

A stylish way to get one of your five a day, the cushion costs £25.

eBay watch: 1970s Philips 5120 portable record player – mint and boxed

Philips

It's the format they've been trying to kill off for decades. Yet despite that, there's a lot of us out there who still love vinyl. So this Philips 5120 portable record player is well worth a look.

It's not a new player, it's from the 1970s. But it is 'new' old stock, sold with the original box and instructions, as well as being in 'mint' condition. Not a bad looking player too, not least in that very '70s orange.

Powered by mains and batteries, it plays 33 and 45rpm records in 7 or 12-inch size and has that clear lid finishing things off. Right now it's at £1.60 with no reserve.

‘Too Many Gadgets’ Tea Towel

Tala_teatowellg
The kitsch image of a 1950s housewife has perhaps been overused, but this ‘Too Many Gadgets’ Tea Towel made me smile as we’ve featured several of Talia’s retro kitchen products on this site.

It features an image from Talia’s archive and shows a housewife surrounded by her Talia labour-saving products.

The tea towel costs £10.50 from The Laundry.

eBay watch: 1950s George Nelson desk by Herman Miller

Desk

Sadly the auction is out of America, but the seller does offer worldwide shipping of this stunning 1950s George Nelson desk by Herman Miller.

we actually featured this desk in 2007 when it was reissued, with an asking price of a hefty £2,936. We're not sure if this is an original 1958 version or a reissue, but either way, it's an official one by Herman Miller, which is the important thing.

Solid walnut sides, a white laminate top, four hardwood dividers, chrome-finished steel-tube legs, adjustable glides and a 'grommet' for cable management are the features, with the seller claiming it is in 'excellent condition' and 'shows hardly wear'. Bidding right now is at £6.20.
