Boundary sideboard designed by Steuart Padwick at Made.com

Boundary sideboard

The advantages of made.com's manufacturing policy are made clear by Steuart Padwick's Boundary sideboard. With a great take on mid-century style, it's interesting to compare it to Padwick's Coast sideboard, which looks very similar but retails for about five times the price.

Of course there is disadvantages too. Partly that you have limited choices in the finish: it's only available with either the walnut veneered doors pictured, or with grey doors. The main disadvantage, however, is the wait for it to be manufactured – it will take approximately 10 to 14 weeks from your order to its delivery.

However, the price is pretty persuasive – it costs either £375 with the grey doors, or £399 with the walnut doors.

Mid-century homewares print by MadebyAnna

Turquoise collection

This print from MadebyAnna is exactly what it claims to be: it's a collection of mid-century homewares, depicted in turquoise.

It's the work of Anna Betts, an illustration student and this is a digital print of an original collage. There's a sewing machine, scales, typewriter and other covetable goods, topped off by the retro type and – of course – the turquoise colouring.

The print is A2 size and available for £30.

John Lewis revival mugs

Pots and mugs

We've featured the John Lewis Revival furniture range previously including its mid-century inspired sideboard. You can now get the mugs to go with the furniture too, with their Revival mug range

Like the furniture, the designs are very much influenced by the 1950s and 60s, such as with the Pots and Pans mug pictured which features sketchily drawn ceramics. The other mugs are covered in more naturally inspired designs with the elm leaf and the seed mug.

Each mug costs £5.

Max Dalton mid-century cocktail party cut-out set

Cocktail_print_max_dalton

Aspire to the mid-century dream lifestyle but were born in the wrong decade and wrong country with the wrong budget? Live out your Mad Men-esque fantasies with this cocktail party cut-out set by Max Dalton

Like one of those paper dolls, you cut up the sheet and place the characters to replicate a swinging 60s soiree. The set includes everything from the house, to the car and the chairs and the slickly attired guests. There's a view of an assembled version over the page but, if the designs really appeal, you could frame the artwork as one piece. Fancy a barbecue instead? Well, you're in luck as Dalton's also designed one of them too with equal style.

The prints start at $24.24, dependent on size.

Spike sticker clock from Next

Spike clock

Only last week we showed you the Nelson print by Blue Ant Studio, a print inspired by George Nelson's Spike clock. Now we've spotted this high-street take on the classic design, the Spike sticker clock from Next

Aside from the name, they've clearly taken influence from the radiating spokes of the classic design. However, here the colourful spokes are made of plastic and are self-adhesive so they can be fixed where ever you'd like.

Brightly coloured and a bargain too, at £20.

New Three Sheets 2 the Wind mid-century style fabric designs

Three_sheets_pillows_1

We're never short of retro-inspired cushions to feature on this site and here's some more to throw onto that overcrowded sofa with some new designs from Three Sheets 2 the Wind

If that name sounds familiar, it's because we've previously featured some of their naturally inspired wall art. These new fabric designs are along the same line. Clearly influenced by some of the skeletal plant forms that appeared in 50s fabric designs, choose from the Fugi design or Windflower and Prairie Grass which are both pictured above. Each pattern is printed onto Irish linen in subtle colour combinations in keeping with the mid-century look.

You can buy the designs as a 18 x 18 inch piece of wall art for $80, or as a cushion of the same size for $90.
