Lilly Wallpaper

  Lillywallpaper

The Lilly Wallpaper by Sandberg is a design that will have equal appeal to children and their design-conscious parents.

The wallpaper features an imaginative landscape of hills, trees and trains in a Scandinavian folk art style, designed by Lotta Kvist. It is available in pink/turquoise, brown/green or green/yellow. Sandberg use old-fashioned processes to make their wallpapers, runing their own wallpaper machines at slower speeds than other wallpaper manufacturers and hand-painting the edges of their wallpaper. The paper costs just under £79 per roll. There is also a fabric in the same pattern available, priced £51.61 per metre.

Arrhenius dishcloths
Ingela Arrhenius is becoming a regular on this site, and now her 50s and 60s influenced designs are more accessible than ever with these retro dish cloths.

We've featured quite a few of these Scandinavian designer dish cloths before – a far cry from the usual soggy washing-up implements. There are three different designs to choose from here, each with its own cute creature. Take your pick from an owl, a cat or a hen, all depicted in her distinctive style.

The cloths cost £3.75 each.

Louis Poulsen-style Oslo pendant from BHS

Oslo

The lighting range at BHS has been providing some great retro inspired numbers recently. This Oslo pendant can be added to that list.

Its name suggests Scandinavian influences. In this case it seems to reference the designs produced for Louis Poulsen by Poul Henningsen, specifically the PH Snowball pendant light, the design of which dates to 1924. This high street version is made from white gloss steel, using the same kind of curves as the PH light to diffuse the light.

While prices for Louis Poulsen lamps go into the thousands, this pendant costs only £170.

Kensington midcentury-style cabinet at Jysk

Jysk

Ever heard fo Jysk? It's a Danish chain that seems to be making big inroads into the UK right now, selling value items with a Scandinavian twist. This Kensington cabinet is one such item.

It's a midcentury-inspired cabinet with a classic Scandinavian influence, made of solid oak that's been 'oiled', with a mix of both shelving, drawer space and a surface area, plus those stylish angled legs for support.

Be warned, there's some sel-assembly involved, but it is cheap right now. Grab it before 30th April and you can secure the Kensington cabinet for £299.

eBay watch: 1960s Danish hanging light

Danish

A nice midcentury design for a reasonable amount of money (at least, at the moment) – this 1960s Danish hanging light.

Not one lamp, but three lamps, all made of brushed aluminium, with an orange-coloured inner, able to be positioned at varying levels. Decent condition, with no big scratches, dents or misshaping apparently.

Price? Right now it's just £2 for the lot.

eBay watch: Midcentury Danish rocking chair

Danish

I love this design – and the midcentury Danish rocking chair isn't too expensive as I write.

It's a refurbished design, with what looks like a good job on it too. The cushions have new foam adhering to current fire regulations, with new upholstery in a textured green fabric plus a restored solid teak frame. It's even got brand new webbing.

The design is still intact though, with those lovely curves and sloping back. £79.99 is the current bid price.
