You may have given up all dreams of being a rock legend and settled into a steady life of respectability, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t indulge in some fun home accessories such as this Smash Hits Guitar Shelf.
The shelf, designed by Rocket, is in the shape of a guitar, in a choice of either black or orange matt lacquer finish. The shelf is enhanced by vinyl wall decals with suitably rock n roll messages.
It costs £145 from Found Home Store.
How useful it is I don't really know – but for impact, you can't really fault this Rocket cassette deck shelf.
Rocket is the name of the designers rather than the product (which I think is simply called 'shelf'), but is part of a wider collection based on the two designers' 'common infatuation with rock n roll and disco culture'.
In this case, an 80s-style, in-car cassette deck that mixes 2D and 3D elements, specifically wall vinyl and the wooden 'cassette' shelf. The entire design is around 42 inches wide, the shelf part covering 11.7 inches. Two colour options, both available online for £95.

Cast your mind back a couple of months and you may remember the London souvenir badge from Shelf. This Shelf tape, designed by Kathryn Dale, is another example of their products.
It's a retro-styled scene of a slinky cat prowling a mantelpiece, causing some chaos amidst the books, dominoes and clock. The colour scheme of pinks and browns reinforces the 1950s feel.
The tape costs £6 and is a perfect way to add style to your packages or perhaps even your own shelf.

If you've ever visited the shop Shelf, in east London, you'll be delighted to hear that they're now running an online shop too so people around the UK can enjoy their products. Both shops feature a fantastic range of newly sourced and vintage ceramics, homewares, stationery and curios from around the world. From their own collection comes this Souvenir sew-on patch.
The patch bears the message 'Souvenir from London' and shows an embroidered Routemaster style bus, clearly with the destination of Shelf. The patch has a great retro look for £4.50 and is just an indicator of the delights of the rest of their stock.
