Renewal Corset Dress at Urban Outfitters

Renewal

The Urban Outfitters Renewal line takes vintage pieces and makes them into new, bespoke fashions from super modern to retro, and with varying appeal. This Corset dress is made from 50s corsets, creating an individual piece for each buyer.

While many may have preferred the original piece in its former state, for eighties fashion lovers, this dress is ideal. Very much in the style of Madonna when she went a little bit racy, this is not one for wallflowers.

It costs £125 from Urban Outfitters online and in some stores.

Dorothy Perkins Black and White Heart coat

Dorothy_p_coat

A simple monochrome winter coat can be surprisingly hard to find at times. If you’re looking for neutrals to wear with everything, but don’t want the sombre feel of a plain black wool coat, this Heart coat from Dorothy Perkins is worth a look.

With a simple heart inspired pattern, it avoids cutesy by being almost akin to houndstooth in its weave. The Peter Pan collar and classic flaring on the A-line skirt give this a little bit of a Twiggy-esque sixties edge. Made from a Wool/Polyester blend, it’ll keep you toasty too.

Get yours from Dorothy Perkins for £75.

Kitty Cooper sample sale – huge savings on classic handmade shoes

Kitty

Remember Kitty Cooper? We featured the Dina shoes (above) a short time back – made of 1930s dove-blue satin and 1950s fuchsia silk, they offered the glamour of a bygone era,  along with the attention to detail you only get with a pair of handmade shoes.

All of which comes at a price – unless you attend the Kitty Cooper sample sale. The company promises ‘massive reductions’ on its hand-crafted ethical and vintage-inspired shoe range, including press and studio samples of its signature pieces.

It takes place from 3rd – 5th October at 15 Blenheim Crescent (off the Portobello Road), London, W11 2EE. Times are 9am to 5pm on the Friday and Saturday, 10pm until 4am on the Sunday. If you want to check out the range in advance, have a look at the website.
