The influence of Spring Court’s trainers has extended way beyond its native France. Yes, Serge Gainsbourg wore them, but so did a number of British Mods in the 60s – and most famously of all, John Lennon was photographed in a pair on the cover of the Abbey Road album.
They’ve been on the market for 70 years and are still available today with the trademark four-hole ventilation (which was introduced in 1952). For the second of our dresses this week we have gone for a 50s feel, with this DR Foster cocktail dress from LK Bennett. We normally prefer a 60s look, but this dress caught our eye, and makes a nice change from the usual shift style cocktail dresses.
