The recent King of Carnaby Street was impressive enough, but a new book on the 60s fashion scene promises to be even more impressive – Boutique London A History: King’s Road to Carnaby Street by Richard Lester and published by ACC Editions.

Covering 280 pages, some in full colour, it traces the developing fashions and boutiques of those famous streets, with a focus on 30 of their retailers, as well as the clothes and the characters within. So expect pieces on Mary Quant, John Stephen and Ossie Clark, along with Top Gear, His Clothes, Granny Takes A Trip and Mr Fish to name just a few, plenty of illustrations thrown into the mix too – clothes, interiors and shoppers as full page shots.

It has a 30th September shelf date, but you can pre-order now at Amazon, with a price of £21.21.
