Vitra Akari 3ad Table Lamp by Isamu Noguchi

Noglamp
We have featured other versions of Noguchi's table lamp in the past, but I think the Akari 3ad is worth a mention of its own.

The paper shade lamp was originally created in 1951 and the name Akari means brightness and lightness. What distinguishes this from the other Akari designs - and also from the various high street imitators, is the delightful retro pattern on the shade. The shade features brown and orange teardrop shapes, a design which is in keeping with the 1950s origin of the lamp, but adds a different twist to it. It is currently on offer at Heal's, reduced from £386 to £328.
