eBay watch: 1970s space age Penny portable 7-inch record player
In the early '70s, the iPad was still science fiction and the Walkman was probably in the early stages of being on the drawing board. If you wanted music on the go, something like this 1970s space age Penny portable 7-inch record player would be the thing to have.
These days, it's just a cool and quirky piece of design. A working one though. You slide in your 45 (without the middle) into the player and it blasts out your single. Ok, 'blast' might be a bit strong, but the seller does say that it is 'pretty loud' for a small machine.
The seller adds that it has had a new belt fitted and it is currently in full working order, waiting for you to add batteries. There is a slot for a mains lead,. but it isn't included in the sale.
If you fancy going old school with this, the price is £75.
