Kewpie Doll from Lapin and Me

Obviously not as stylish as the Blythe doll, but Lapin & Me are selling reproduction of another kitsch favourite, the Kewpie Doll.

This version of the Kewpie Doll is a reproduction by a Japanese company (of course!) of the midcentury incarnation of the Kewpie doll, although Kewpie actually dates as far back as 1913. Originally made from bisque then celluloid, they were made from hard plastic from 1949 and it is that style that this recreates.  The doll stands at 20cm tall and costs £12.

Visit Lapin and Me to buy.
