Isamu Noguchi-inspired Rituals table lamps by Ludovica & Roberto Palomba for Foscarini
If the look of these lights has a familiarity about it, it's perhaps down to a similarity to the iconic Isamu Noguchi lamps from the middle of the 20th century, which were in turn inspired by traditional paper lanterns. But there's more to these Rituals table lamps by Ludovica & Roberto Palomba for Foscarini than meets the eye.
The series of lamps (which also extends to ceiling lights) uses the look of those paper lanterns, but that look is cleverly recreated in glass, thanks to the skill of master Murano glassmakers, who have worked out a technique to hand blow the shades using a mould that mimics the paper design.
The end result is what you see above, quite eye-catching, as well as being perfect for a midcentury setting, especially with the angled metal legs at the base.
Prices vary according to the design you opt for, but start at £313.
