These are actually new pieces, but these vintage-style light up circus signs by Argent and Sable might pass for old ones.
Yes, they look like old circus signs and that’s pretty much the point. But there is one obvious giveaway – the message within. After all, I can’t imagine a circus sign saying ‘I Wanna Be Adored’.
That’s the selling point for me. Yes, the vintage look is going to catch the eye and really set off a room. But the wording is the cherry on top.
Take your pick from plenty of phrases, some of which are featured here. I mentioned the Stone Roses one, but you can also pick from the likes of ‘I’m A Soul Man’, ‘Funk’, ‘All You Need Is Love’, ‘Get Lucky’ and many more. But that’s not quite all.
As you can see from the images here, you can also get a star. In fact, several versions of a light-up star. But on top of that, you have the option of going for a personalised sign too. So pretty much any small phrase or name you can think of in a vintage font. Which makes the possibilities for these signs almost endless.
As for the design of each, they are pretty much consistent (outside of the stars), with a distressed look for the wood, suitably faded colours to add to the vintage feel and authentic circus lights for the illumination.
Each one handmade too, so no sign is like the other. Something unique for your home. Fancy that? Then you need to check the piggy bank. Prices start at £290 for the signs (including personalised ones) and £185 for the stars.
That doesn’t sound cheap, but for something individual and handmade, it doesn’t sound excessive either.
