Seashell

If your ceilings are high enough for a light feature, you might want to check out the Verner Panton Seashell chandelier.

Designed by Panton in 1964, it’s as much a piece of art as a piece of functional design, a wooden ceiling plate dropping down chains of metal rings, each decorated with mother of pearl discs. And somewhere within all of that is a 100w bulb providing both light and lighting effect.

The height is 110cm, so check your space before you buy. And your bank balance –  it’s priced at a whopping £6,850.08.
