A relatively obscure design by a legendary designer, but this Joe Colombo Bolle floor lamp, which has been reissued by Pallucco, will certainly dominate any room it appears in.

The lamp actually dates to 1964, an early example of space age design and a statement design full stop. That's partly down to the size (it stands just over 5ft tall), but also from its distinctive look, made from 'satin extruded methacrilat' apparently, finished with seven external aluminium rings, then high gloss lacquered in white or black.

You'll need two fluorescent bulbs to run one and around £1,466 to buy one. If you do want to buy one, they should be in stock soon at The Conran Shop.
