Bintons rug

Love the Coronation Rug collection by Brintons which reproduces original designs from the 1950s.

It's a collection of nine rugs, taken from hand-painted 1950s designs from within the extensive Brintons archive. The rugs use some of the experimental patterns that typify the area, such as the Modular Aqua rug shown above, which was originally hand-painted in 1951. Or Vesper Ice, illustrated below, dating to 1954 and patterned with outlines of glassware. There's also a familiar pattern in the form of the Festival Celdon, based on the design that became the carpet at the Royal Festival Hall, and you may remember being worked as the Net and Ball wallpaper.

Each rug made using 'Brintons blend' , itself dating back to the 1950s: a 80% wool and 20% nylon mix and measures 1.7 x 2.4 metres.

The rugs cost £499 each.
