Keep Your Dog on a Lead

It dates to the 1960s but this Keep Your Dog on a Lead print from the V&A Shop has got timeless appeal in addition to its timeless message.

The print is based on an original poster from The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents dating to 1961 and has been reproduced by the V&A. While there's merit in the poster's intention to encourage dog owners to act responsibly near roads, it's the graphic style which really makes this print appealing. The cute dog is depicted by a bold, black outline, while the simple red, white and black colour scheme really helps the design stand out on a wall.

There's a possible partner to this print available as well – a cat design, also from the RoSPA and dating to the 1970s.

The print is priced at £9.50 and you can pick one up here
