Not a well-known design, but if you want a finishing touch for your 1960s-inspired pad, this Berg Table Light by Northern Lighting could be just the thing.

Put simply, this is 1960s modernism. Designed in 1967 by Gerhard Berg for his own lounge, it uses right angles and flat surfaces to create something sculptural that draws the eye and something very much of its era. You can't imagine something like this landing in the shops today.

It's made of aluminium, with sandblasted panels of acrylic to create those sharp angles, all of which glows via a single bulb. You can get the Berg Table Light in small and large sizes, with prices starting at £338 if you fancy one.
