Think of this as a try before you buy, as this 1960s Andre Maisonnier-designed modernist house in Val de Saone, central France isn't only a holiday let, it's also up for sale too.

The house is a midcentury gem, designed by a pupil of Le Corbusier at the end of the 1960s and externally, pretty much unchanged since. Inside is a very different matter, with an incredibly modern, almost space age feel about it that works really well with the futuristic shell.

Space-wise, you are looking at a large reception room with kitchenette, a large dining and living area, bathroom/ WC, a double bedroom with en-suite and two additional bedrooms. So room for a family or a bunch of friends.

If you want to stay here, the house is available to let from €950 per week. If you want to buy, the asking price is €385,000. More images and details of that at the WowHaus website.
