Not the cheapest desk on the market, but there is much to love about the Slope Desk by Laura McKay Design.

The look for a start, which has something of a 1950s / 1960s vibe about it, not least because of the powder coated frame and the rather bold colours of formica on the top. But this is much more than a pretty face.

The desk is set at a 10-inch angle, which prevents clutter and is ergonomically ideal for a laptop or pad. Don't worry about any pens and pencils you need – the grooves hold blocks (purchased separately) to keep all of that safe.

If you love it as much as we do, it's available online for £1,200.
