I think these albums have been many people’s first introduction to the Fab Four, not least because pretty much every household seemed to have one or indeed both. If you are feeling nostalgic or just want your own copy, The Beatles 1962 – 1966 and 1967 – 1970 albums are being reissued on heavyweight vinyl.

In fact, they hit the shelves tomorrow (although you can order today), perfectly timed for the Christmas rush. The albums are unchanged really from the ones you know (unless you owned the coloured vinyl versions), but with a couple of additional features that your hands and ears might pick up on.

First off, the ‘best of’ double albums are pressed on 180g heavyweight vinyl, so certainly more substantial than than ones you might recall from years back. Secondly, each volume has been remastered at Abbey Road, so the sound should be a step up too.

Obviously the modern era means they cost a bit more too. £31.99 each, to be precise.
