Another lovely Dansette on offer on eBay, with this Dansette Major Mk2 record player being a little ‘earlier’ than a lot of models featured on these pages.
This model dates from 1959. Not that you would automatically think of this as a player clocking up 57 years. The blue covering (original to the player) has stood the test of time, as has the basket weave finish. The BSR UA8 deck is in full working order too, playing at 16, 33, 45 & 78rpm, with around eight records able to be stacked up too.
That’s not by accident. This player has been stripped and cleaned inside and out, the single valve amplifier serviced, out of spec components replaced and a new cable and plug fitted for the 21st century.
Note that this isn’t a player designed to be used with the legs, as it does;t have the appropriate supports. If that’s not an issue, this one is currently at £4.99 in the bidding.
