It is something of a period classic, with this particular retro-style Sputnik Chandelier courtesy of West Elm.

While there are plenty of Sputnik designs out there, each one differs subtly from the last. In fact, the last one I featured was a ceiling and floor light that added in chunks of glass and a chain for support. Essentially the same design, but at the same time, a very different piece. Check through the archive if you want to see more.

Or have a closer look at this one at West Elm, which is described as a ‘chandelier’ rather than a light, perhaps because it is pitching itself as statement lighting. Something it definitely delivers on.

This version is made or iron with a brass finish, with 10 slots for bulbs (9w LED bulbs to be precise) and with a number or arms or spikes (I”m not sure of the official term) springing out from the globe in the centre. It is quite a centrepiece for any room. But if you are going retro or 1960s, even better.

See the site for all the dimensions and note that you can adjust the height to fit with your ceilings height. £499 is the price, but there are discount codes currently on the West Elm site if you want more off it.
