We showed you some authentically 1950s-designed textiles earlier in the week, thanks to the re-released designs of Robert Stewart, but for a 21st-century take on the look, it's worth checking out the Accent furnishing fabrics collection by Prestigious

The collection has a strong retro flavour and its three designs all link into the fifties interest in the natural world, with the block-printed Poppy Pods shown above, and Dandelion Colonial shown below. The third pattern, Dita, is decorated with splodge-like spots. Each design comes in a number of colourways, all sympathetic to a 50s decorating palette.

The fabric is 100% cotton and is suitable for blinds, curtains and as many soft furnishings as your heart desires.

It's priced at £14 a metre.
