Classic designs of David Mellor artwork by Ink Posters

Mellor_art

Ever heard of David Mellor? Well, if the name isn't familiar, his work certainly is – you probably pass his 1966 National Traffic Light design every day of your life (if you live in the UK) and you've probably used items like his bus shelters, public seating and litter bins at some time in your life. While those items aren't celebrated by the classic designs of David Mellor artwork, some of his more stylish works for the home are.

The three prints available from Ink Posters feature Mellor's classic 1972 Abacus 700 armchair (pictured above), the Abacus Embassy Teapot (designed for the British Embassy in 1963) and the Minimal Cutlery, a more comtemporary, but equally retro design.

All the two-colour screenprints are limited to 1,000 and are incredibly minimalist, featuring just the image of the design and some details of it in the lower section. Each one retails for £55.

Many Hands print by Bold and Noble

Many hands

A few months ago we featured the Bold and Noble Love print and their new Many Hands print is equally as stylish. Another in the proverb/instructional type of poster that is so fashionable at the moment, the simple font and old instruction manual style hands of this one give it, dare I say, a lightness of touch.

The print is shown above in the slate colourway but it also comes in duck egg blue. It costs £38.

Lomo introduces the Diana Mini 60s-style camera

Diana_mini

You may recall we ran a top five 60s-style cameras feature earlier in the week at our Modculture site, which featured the original Lomo Diana camera. Well, typically, as soon as we ran that feature, a new version appeared – known (for obvious reasons) as the Diana Mini.

It's essentially a miniaturised version of the original 60s-inspired Diana cam, this one offer up the option to shoot old-fashioned square shots or half-frame shots, basically two shots in the same image side by side, which means you can get 72 images on one roll of 35mm film. You can even swap between the two with a flick of the switch.

You can also shoot long and multiple exposures and add a flash for better images in poor light, all from a film camera that's small enough to fit into your trouser pocket – unless that flash is attached. Prices vary depending on the package you got for, but sell from £46.90 with the 'Shoot Forever' Diana Mini Book thrown in for free.

It's fun on a rainy day, as well as a stylish thing to have about the place. Yours for £40.
