Britain Can Make It range

Britain can make it

If you are looking for an alternative motivational message to keeping calm and carrying on, how about Britain can make it? This was a name of an exhibition that took place at the V&A in 1946 and the original poster design by Ashley Havinden has just been reissued by the museum. The exhibition was organised by the Council of Industrial Design to showcase and stimulate post-war British industry across a number of fields including those shown on the poster, like jewellery, toys, textiles plastics and 'labour savers'.

This A2 poster costs £10 and the slogan has also been used on a variety of other products including t-shirts and bags.
