Enzo Berti Dada chair

Dada_chair
Looking every bit the big and bold 60s pop art design piece is the Dada chair by Enzo Berti.

It’s actually a fairly recent piece from the award-winning Italian designer, but taking influence from the dadaist movement, which stood as the negation of all rational and received ideas. And you get any less rational than a hand-shaped polyethylene chair for your garden (with most people probably preferring something cheap from the local DIY store).

It’s sized at 70cm (h), 65cm (w) and 80cm (d) and retails for £295.

Lomography Fisheye camera – circular photography

Lomography_fisheye

We’ve covered Lomography previously, in particular the Oktomat camera. But we’re now really into the Lomography Fisheye camera.

Just looking at it, you can see why. The black and white version offers some great vintage/pop art look styling. But it’s not all about looks. The "fisheye" aspect is all about the lens, capturing a 170-degree view on standard 35mm film and compacting it into a circular image – not unlike the introduction to The Sweeney or many classic 60s album covers.

And the cameras aren’t expensive either – you can pick one up for just £26.86, with value bundles also on offer for film and a circle cutter.

Umbro By Kim Jones Waxed Harrington

Umbro_harrington
I do like a Harrington jacket – and right now, it’s back as a fashionable garment, so there’s plenty to choose from  – even though most look almost identical!

Another contender for your cash is the Umbro By Kim Jones Waxed Harrington. According to the manufacturer, it is "inspired by football ‘Away Days’ , with a waxed finish, an elasticated waist and cuff, two front pockets, button collar and thankfully, no large logo – the company details are restricted to the zipper shape.

Originally pushing £150, you can probably find it in the sales – End are doing it right now for £95.

Diligence Bathyscafocus space age wood burner

Diligence
If you look at some vintage design books from the 60s and 70s (including early versions of Conran’s House Book), you’ll see not see the gas and electric fires that were probably in your parents’ homes, you’ll see some weird and wonderful real fireplaces as a focal point of a room. And you can still buy similar designs.

Diligence in Devon do some fantastic wood burners, including the Bathyscafocus space age wood burner. Suspended from the ceiling, it’s designed for the centre of a room rather than on a wall. That’s because it spins round, allowing you to enjoy the heat wherever you are.

A stunning piece of retro design, you can pick one up for your space age pad for £4,215. And check out the website for more design, images and clips of the fireplaces in action.
