Sagaform Blossom Teapot

Blossomteapot
Sagaform can always be relied upon for a good retro pattern such with the Blossom Teapot being the latest.

The teapot is made from stoneware with an oak lid. If the design looks familiar, that is because Blossom combines the elements of three other Camilla Engdahl patterns: Tulip, Daisy and Clover, so if you already own tea sets in those prints, this teapot will work well with them.

Buy it from Illustrated Living, priced £25.95.

Crayola Letter Art by The Letteroom

Normal_DSC_0102
The Letteroom specialises in personalised gifts, which isn’t that unusual, but their Crayola Letter Art is something a bit different.

Housed in a white wooden box frame, it consists of a capital letter made entirely from Crayola crayons of different lengths and colours. You get to pick the letter obviously, but you can also chose between multi-coloured crayons, shades of pinks or shades of blue.  It would make a good  gift for a child or an adult nostalgic for childhood.

Buy it directly from The Letteroom for £37.50

The Seventies Unplugged by Gerard De Groot

51GC616gKxL__SL500_AA300_
In his last book The Sixties Unplugged, Gerard De Groot proposed that the 1960s weren’t the happy-go-lucky radical decade of popular belief and now in his new book, he casts a similarly unbiased eye over the 1970s.

The Seventies Unplugged: A Kaleidoscopic Look at a Violent Decade takes an episodic approach to the decade, looking at some of the major political events around the world. In his introduction, De Groot writes that he wanted to move away from the stereotypical view of the 1970s as not being as good as the 1960s, but found that the theme that dominated his research was how violent the decade was. With chapters on dictators, terrorists and Vietnam, it is a pretty serious read and certainly not your typical beach book (although I read it on my recent holiday).

It is available in paperback from Amazon, priced £5.84
