Drop Scones Not Bombs Bag

DSNB

The Drop Scones Not Bombs slogan is a nice variation on Make Tea Not War which itself is a very British twist on the Make Love Not War motto of the 60s protest movement.

Here it is printed onto an organic unbleached cotton tote bag, which includes a pin badge and a recipe for making the traditional northern delicacy of drop scones. In keeping with the peace-loving slogan, the design incorporates the CND logo as well as a picture of a drop scone.

The bag costs £10 from Hunkydory Home.

Pol & Mik “Legendary” Cushions

Janis

Pol & Mik have produced a pair of cushions they are calling “Legendary”.

There are two designs, both featuring a psychedelic swirling pattern. The predominantly white design is named “Janis”, presumably after Joplin, whilst the mainly blue design is called “John”, which I’m guessing might be after Lennon, but there could be other candidates. The cushions are available in a choice of sizes 40cm (19.99 Euros), 50cm (22.99 Euros) or 60cm (24.99 Euros).

The cushions are available to buy from the Pol & Mik store at Envelop.

The Leigh Coffee Table by & Then was inspired by the Shaker style of the late 18th Century and named after one of the movement’s founders (although spelling it differently). T

hat period might be somewhat earlier than our usual sphere of interest, but the coffee table uses laminated Formica, which gives it a midcentury feel. The table is made to order, so will take up to ten weeks to make and comes with a £1840 price tag that reflects this.

The Leigh Coffee Table is available to order from Brighton Pod.

Coco Bunk Bed

3320_02

It seems a shame to furnish your house in a stylish retro manner only for it to be marred by garish modern designs in your child’s room. The Coco Bunk Bed is a great piece that will solve that problem, having a retro look to it, but still being something that should appeal to kids.

It combines white and chocolate finishes and has rounded square cut-out windows that add to its retro look. The beds are full adult size so this is a piece of furniture that your kids won’t quickly outgrow.

The Coca Bunk Bed costs £450 (you need to buy mattresses separately) from Aspace.
