Sid & Nancy T-Shirt

As they do from time to time, Topshop currently have a small selection of t-shirts in stock that feature images of retro icons. Pictured here is the Sid & Nancy T-Shirt.

Described as a sleeveless tee (which I’d probably call a vest), it had a black & white photograph print of the doomed pair on the front. For added punk aesthetics, the top also has a raw edge around the armholes.

It costs £18 and is available to buy from the Topshop website. There is also a similar style t-shirt with a picture of Mick Jagger.

Jo-Jo the Dove Christmas Cards

Messages of “Peace” and images of white doves are pretty commonplace on Christmas cards, but the “Jo-Jo the Dove” Christmas Cards have another meaning.

The design is taken from an anonymous political poster originally issued by the French anti-communist group Paix et Liberté in 1952. These cards have been designed exclusively for the V&A Shop and are sold in packs of 10 which also include a sheet of stickers for personalising your cards.

The cards cost £6.50 and can be ordered from the V&A Shop now.

Several generations of young girls have grown up reading the Nancy Drew Mysteries, with the heroine first appearing in the 1930s and continuing to solve new cases to this day.

"The Nancy Drew Cook: Clues to Good Cooking" is very much the 1970s incarnation of Nancy Drew as it was originally published in 1973, but reissued in 2005. The easy-to-follow recipes tie in with the most famous of Miss Drew’s cases.

It is available from Amazon for less than £5.

Available to buy from sustainable design experts, One Eco Home, the Retro Salvage Dining Table has been fashioned from the salvage of old kitchen around Edinburgh.

The table top is made from 100% reclaimed chipboard with durable synthetic surfaces (formica/melmine/vinyl) and the base is reclaimed solid wood, in some cases dating as far back in the 1960s. Each table is unique so colours will vary, but you can discuss colour options with the company and the table can be made to your bespoke size.

Designed by Vancouver based company Torre & Tagus, the Pod Vase is a decidedly space-age design.

Made from white ceramic, it stands at nearly 56cm high. To complement its sleek design, it would be best filled with simply blooms or even left empty to show off its curves!

Pop Flower Wall Stickers

There has been a glut of wall stickers available recently, but the Pop Flower Wall Sticker by Ich&Kar is worth a mention.

It will make quite an impact on your wall. It measures 150cm by 100cm but it isn’t just the size that will make an impression. The design is a psychedelic style flower and it comes in bright colours that are also reminiscent of the 1960s flower power era.

Authentics website have the Pop Flower Wall Sticker in a choice of the blue, beige and yellow combination shown here or an even brighter range of green and yellows. It costs £31.45, which is a small price to pay to completely transform a wall.
