“My Dadd’s Name is Elvis” Print

Ima_elvisKirsty McColl may well have known a man who worked down the chip shop who swore he was Elvis, but artist Lucy Gough goes one better, claiming The King as her father in her piece entitled “My Dadd’s Name is Elvis”.

The picture shows a wallet with a father and daughter photograph, with Elvis as the father. The piece combines humour with sweet sentimentality.

Screenprinted on lined paper, it is limited to 100 editions and can be bought framed or unframed. Visit Lucy Gough’s website for details of stockists.

Stig Lindberg Bersa Porcelain

Bersa1Bags and cushions featuring the whimsical designs of Stig Lindberg has graced these pages before, but ceramics are what this Swedish designer was most famous for.

His Bersa Porcelain range has a more restrained design than some of his other work, comprising of a simple green leaf design on a white background.  It is still being produced today by Gustavsberg, the company with which Lindberg spent most of his career.

The series includes cups, saucers and plates of various sizes. Prices start at £23 for a small plate and go up to £44 for a breakfast cup and saucer.

Michelle Mason Seville Cushions

Seville_cushionA far cry from the Mellow Yellow favoured by Donovan, this cushion is an arrested medley bright yellow (with a few other colours thrown in for good measure).

The Seville Cushion by Michelle Mason is an eye-catching piece that is typical of the designer’s retro-influenced works, which also includes lampshades and teatowels.  The cushion uses unbleached cotton so is kind to the environment.

It can be bought online via Not on the High Street or visit Michelle Mason’s website for a list of other stockists.

Kaleidescope Shower Curtain

ShowercurtainFollowing on from the Arcana Soap, let’s stay in the bathroom and draw your attention to the Kaleidescope Shower Curtain.

It can be difficult to maintain that retro vibe in your bathroom without veering into kitsch or tacky, so its been a while since we’ve featured a shower curtain but this shower one is pretty stylish (as shower curtains go, that is).

The op art black and white design is nicely finished off with an equally retro orange band across the bottom of the curtain.

It costs $33 (approximately £17) from Sprouthome.

Lazy Susan Table

LazysusanAlongside a fondue set, a Lazy Susan was a dinner party essential back in the 1970s. The original Lazy Susan was a rotating serving tray, but Home Temptations have bettered that with the Lazy Susan Table.

The revolving section is a permanent part of the table, rather than just something to get out on a special occasion. The table comes as a set with four chairs, two each of black and white which look quite nice too.

The set costs £620 from the Home Temptations website
