Marimekko Kaivo tonic bag

Marimekko_kaivo
We touched on the Marimekko Kaivo design some time ago. But now it has been revisited by Marimekko for a new range of items, including this Marimekko Kaivo tonic bag.

The Kaivo design was introduced in 1964 by Maija Isola, but the new colourways (including this mustard yellow) have been created by Maija’s daughter, Kristina Isola and used on a range of new bags.

This tonic bag is made of 100 per cent light cotton and is ideal as an everyday bag for throwing your essentials in. It retails for £38.

Marshall_signed
We featured the Pure EVOKE-1XT Marshall Edition DAB digital radio some time back. As the name suggests, it’s a DAB radio in the shape of a classic Marshall amplifier.

It costs about £100 – but you can bid for one signed by your favourite rock star instead, including everyone from Paul Weller, Graham Coxon, Oasis and Pete Doherty to old school acts like Hawkwind, Bill Wyman, Alice Cooper and Ronnie Wood.

The auctions take place in October at the  Rockstar Radios website, with proceeds going to Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy.

Littletulip

No prizes for guessing why this Tulip Chair is so named.

V&A’s Jack Kerouac On The Road poster

Ontheroad
An interesting piece of vintage art on the V&A website – the Jack Kerouac On The Road poster.

It’s actually the sleeve art for the 1958 publication of the beat generation classic, published by Andre Deutsch. And the artist might surprise you too – it was Len Deighton. Yes, that Len Deighton, before he moved into bestselling novels himself.

Sized at 59cm x 84cm, you can pick one up for £15.
