eBay watch: Merrow Associates drinks trolley

Not the rarest item in the company's range, but this Merrow Associates drinks trolley is certainly one of the more functional item.

Produced from the mid-60s and sold in the likes of Harrods and Heals, Merrow Associates had a reputation for well-made, good quality furnishings. It's that reputation that makes them collectible to this day.

This trolley dates from around 1970 and this particular one has a teak veneer as opposed to rosewood, plus all that stylish chrome and glass. According to the seller, there is some chrome flaking and a little bit of veneer damage, but at £250 (or 'best offer'), the price is about right.

Not just any old maps, these midcentury-inspired You Are Here and May We Help You? pocket-sized maps add a vintage twist, as well as an interesting twist in content.

Both feature illustration by Michael Newhouse, A3 folded to A6 and litho printed on recycled paper by Herb Lester Associates of London.

You Are Here (pictured over the page) pinpoints cool places to meet, chosen for their charm, for their convenience or simply because the compilers love them. May We Help You? focuses on 'London’s most useful suppliers' – sources for products and services ranging from rubber tubing to 18th-century lamps, Super 8 film to covered buttons, leather repairs to bookbinding. Copies are available online for £3, including postage.

1970s Adidas Spezial trainers get new reissue

It has been reissued in the fairly recent past, but for fans of the Adidas Spezial, these 1970s trainers are back once more in a blue finish with bold orange detailing.

Originally released in 1979 as an indoor sports shoe, it's back with a faithful profile, as well as a suede upper and chunky gum sole.

eBay watch: 1970s Ekstreme Chair by Terje Ekstrom

I think the new ones retail for between £600 and £700, so this Ekstreme Chair by Terje Ekstrom seems quite a bargain.

Ekstrom originally designed it back in 1972, but the chair didn't go into production by Stokke (now Varier) until the 1980s. As much a piece of sculpture as a seat, it's got a metal frame with a cushioned cloth covering and by all accounts is very comfortable.

This example is described as being on 'good condition', with some stitching to the main seat. So not perfect, but at £100, priced well.

Tag Heuer Monaco Vintage Chronograph reissue

First produced back in 1969 in honour of the Monaco Grand Prix and famously worn by Steve McQueen 'back in the day', the Monaco is back once more, this time as the Tag Heuer Monaco Vintage Chronograph.

Apparently, this latest version is based on one of the original Monaco designs, one with the original Tag-free Heuer logo, grey dial, a charcoal grey stainless steel case and of course, the microrotor for automatic rewinding.

The watch will be available in a limited run of 1,860 pieces and goes on sale soon, priced around the £3,200 mark. If you don't like the looks, you can always head to Bamford, which offers a bespoke version.

eBay watch: Fully restored Austin Mini Designer Mary Quant Edition

Yes, I know we featured one of these a short while back, but that was a model in need of full restoration. This Austin Mini Designer Mary Quant Edition has been full restored and is ready to go.

For the uninitiated, around 2,000 of these Mary Quant-designed Minis were made, a good number no doubt rusting away since the 1980s, so it's very much a case of future collectible we reckon. This one looks a real gem too.
