Not just for financial institutions, Arne Jacobsen Bankers Clock will look pretty cool on a living room or kitchen wall too.

Designed by Arne Jacobsen back in 1971 for the National Bank in Copenhagen, the clock is a fairly hefty affair with a diameter of 48cm, but really catches the eye with its minimalist design, dispensing with numbers for a series of bars for indicating hours and minutes – aided by those two skinny hands obviously.

Available once more via Rosendahl, it sells for £679. if you like the look, but want something smaller, there's also a watch version available.

No, this isn't an evacuee from the 1950s, the Graham and Green Sunburst Mirror is a modern design.

But it's not going to give that impression in your home. The mirror is an eye-catching concave design that's very much 'of an era', aided by a distressed face and those gold metal arms, which could only be from the mid-century era.

It's sized around 100cm and should be available from June, priced at £239.

A modern light with a distinctly retro influence – the Kartell Cindy table lamp by Ferrucio Laviani.

Yes, this looks like it's been dragged kicking and screaming from the 1970s, with that rounded base and large shade, both made of  a mass dyed technoplastic technopolymer in a seemingly endless choice of colour, each giving out a distinctive brightness of its own.

Complete with energy saving light bulb, the Cindy is available now for £123.
