Pierre Paulin 1950s Lupo table for Ligne Roset

Lupo

The recently-departed Pierre Paulin reworked some old designs and introduced some new ones just before his death, the Lupo table being one of the latter.

This Scandinavian-inspired piece was actually one of Paulin's first designs, way back in 1953, but still looks every bit the modern table with its geometric shape, angled legs and cut-out 'handles' on the tray-like top, making it portable as well as stylish.

Constructed from black stained oak, it sells for £635.

Fornasetti Serratura keyhole rug

Fornasetti

There's something very eye-catching, but at the same time, a little unnerving about the Fornasetti Serratura keyhole rug.

A typically bizarre Piero Fornasetti work, it features the female face (opera singer Lina Cavalieri, should you be wondering) that was so prevalent in his work, this time in a keyhole shape on a bold red background.

Hand knotted in 100 per cent wool and sized around 3ft x 5ft, it retails for £2,390.

Ferm Living Retro Leaves wallpaper

RetroLeaves

There seems to have been lots of retro-inspired wallpapers recently and here's another one to add to the list: Ferm Living's Retro Leaves Wallpaper. Designed by Trine Anderson, it's part of their new 'Very Special Collection'. The papers all use the old-fashioned technique of surface print to produce a stencil like effect.

The technique works fantastically with the repeated pattern of skeletal leaves for this wallpaper. This, combined with the muted green and yellow colour scheme, recalls British designs of the 1950s.

The paper cost £54 a roll.

Eero Aarnio 1960s Cognac XO armchair

Cognac

The original is near-impossible to find and to be honest, the reissue of the Eero Aarnio Cognac XO armchair isn't much easier to source either.

It's not actually a straight reissue of the 1966 Cognac V.S.O.P. chair (hence the slight name change), this version is bigger and 'more ergonomic', but still hads that distinctive fibreglass frame and some upholstery in a Tonus fabric in your choice of colour.

Of course it isn't  cheap, with prices around the £4,000 mark, but there's no denying it's a head turner.
