Classic rock skateboards

Classicrock_skateboards

After we featured the mod and punk-themed skateboards, we were pointed in the direction of something similar – these classic rock skateboards.

All are officially licensed and sold without wheels, giving you the option of hanging the boards on your wall as quirky art or using as they were intended. The boards have plain uppers and designs on the rear, including the likes of The Ramones and Jamie Reid’s Never Mind The Bollocks and God Save The Queen Sex Pistols artwork.

They retail for around £45.

B-Line Boomerang Lounge Chair

1364A very cosy looking classic chair as our thoughts turn to relaxation at the weekend. The B-Line Boomerang Lounge Chair was designed by former Jazz musician Rodolfo Bonetto in 1968 and it takes its name from the two chrome plated profiles in the sides which are in the shape of a boomerang.

Multiple units can easily be joined together to form modular sofas and there is a handy pocket feature at the back, which you could use to store newspapers (as illustrated here) or perhaps your remote controls.

It is available in a rainbow of colours; bronze, beige, red, blue or lilac and retails for just over £1,000 from Nest.

Swing Chair – 60s-style cool

Swingchair

A modern piece of design with a distinctly 60s feel – the Swing Chair.

It’s available from Onedeko with a variety of fabric options, but we like this Panton-esque covering the most. The chair itself has a chrome base and a curved shape for comfort, with a couple of arm rests thrown in for good measure.

You can order one online, priced at £539.

Moonrug

When it comes to quirky design, Atypyk is the name to watch right now – and the Moon Carpet is another great example.

Yes, every morning you can re-live the 1960s, bouncing around this crater-covered carpet just like Neil Armstrong. The white rug is made from 100 per cent wool and is 210cm wide.

No price as yet – contact the company to register your interest.

Dwell’s Artichoke-like spiked pendant light

Dwell_pleated
I really like Dwell – so many of their items hint at high-end design, without actually commanding the asking price. And typical is this Dwell pleated spiked pendant light.

Like the Artichoke lamp and very much like the Norm 69 pendant light, this particular pendant has the same segment-style design, all made from polypropylene and with a total diameter of 40cm.

It’s also ready-made (unlike the Norm 69) and retails for a very reasonable £24.95.

Ideal for that afternoon nap, it retails for a rather pricey £3,600.
