If you want a fridge magnet that looks almost as edible as a Love Heart sweet, how about these star and heart shaped fridge magnets from Jo Heckett?

We love Merrow Associates furniture for its great 70s style, and we’ve been lucky to find quite a bit of it. However it can be expensive and it’s not always that easy to find, so if you want to re-create the look on a budget how about checking out the Toledo furniture range at Asda?

Best known for this Red and Blue Chair, Gerrit Rietveld was a member of “De Stijl” movement, whose principles included using straight horizontal and vertical lines, primary colours and avoiding symmetry.
In 1924, Rietveld undertook his most ambitious project, designing the Schröder House in Utrecht, and the Schröder Table was a piece designed to furnish this building. Like the house, the table is made up of geometric asymmetrical forms, and uses the bright colours favoured by other “De Stijl” members such as the artist Mondrian.

The Sculptura telephone was a quintessential 1970s phone. Produced by Western Electric in a choice of three colour (yellow, brown or white), it was available as either Touchtone or rotary dial. It is also often referred to as the donut phone on account of its distinctive shape.
These phones seem to come up on Ebay in the USA fairly regularly but if you don’t want to take a chance on bidding for one, then there are several other online stockists including the Ericofon website who currently have brown and yellow with both dial styles in stock. Prices currently range from $50 for brown rotary up to $85 for yellow touchtone. If you’d preferred a yellow Sculptura, Modcats currently has one for $90.
These are USA phones but they will work in other countries with the right adapter.
If proof were needed that the 70s has been welcomed back into the mainstream, it can be found with DIY giant B&Q stocking this 70s-style Trippy wallcovering.
It’s by British Design Talent, a collective of new British designers that has developed a range of wallcoverings specifically for B&Q. And this one could have come straight out of Conran’s House Book, a bold orange and black design that’s also textured – so good for those slightly imperfect walls.
